The Maserati Club, a Home for Discerning Enthusiasts
Organizing Fun Events And Rallies, Coast to Coast and Internationally

Talk to people involved with Maserati – whether it is someone at the factory in Italy, a member of a team racing an MC12 in the FIA GT Championship or an owner – and the chances are that the word ‘passion’ will crop up in conversation. As the quintessentially Italian brand, it should come as no surprise that the Trident inspires passion among true car enthusiasts.

Sharing in the passion for Maserati is an excellent reason to become a member of The Maserati Club. This is a not-for-profit organization run by and for enthusiasts, people who have an intense respect for the Italian brand. This respect is reciprocated by Maserati, which understands the passion that inspires these club members. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Maserati, regardless of whether the interest is in the modern era, classic cars or the racing history of the marque.

There are four chapters in the United States – Eastern, South East, Rocky Mountain and Western. There is a Canadian chapter, based in Toronto, which often has ‘shared’ events with the Eastern chapter. Internationally, there are chapters in Japan, Australia, South Africa, Hungary and – of course – Italy.

Each chapter organizes their own events throughout the year – elsewhere in this issue, you can read about the Western chapter’s Pismo Beach Rally. The club also has a major event each year, attended by members from across the globe, called the Maser Miglia. Two years ago, this was held near the Grand Canyon, in Arizona, while the 2006 edition went ‘home’ to Italy. This year’s Maser Miglia, held at the end of September, will be hosted by the South East chapter in Georgia. Club events are intended to be friendly gatherings of like-minded enthusiasts, who enjoy good company, great conversations – and, of course, excellent cars.

While owning a Maserati is not a prerequisite, club members would be more than happy to assist you in deciding which Maserati is right for you and to help facilitate the search and acquisition. When we attended the Pismo Beach Rally, the participants used Maseratis both old and new, from a 3500 GT to several Coupes and a GranSport. One of the Club’s aims is: To inspire the ownership, operation, restoration, and preservation of Maserati automobiles. Spend any time with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable members, and they will surely inspire you to become a Maserati owner – or to expand your collection, should you be fortunate enough to already possess an Italian thoroughbred.
