Raffles for Quattroporte and GranTurismo highlight of Columbus Parade festivites...

Maserati Quattroporte

New York’s Columbus Day parade is one of the city’s major events. Every year thousands of people line Fifth Avenue to watch as the pageant makes its colorful way past, while many more watch on TV. For nearly eighty years the parade has been the highlight of the fund-raising efforts of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, a non-profit organization which is committed to fostering an appreciation of Italian-American heritage and achievement. The funds raised by the foundation are used to assist needy and deserving Italian-American students through a variety of scholarship and grant programs.

This year the fund-raising efforts of the Columbus Citizens Foundation have been given a double boost. In recognition of such a worthy cause, and of its own Italian heritage, Maserati has partnered with the Columbus Citizens Foundation so a pair of genuine dream cars can be raffled as part of the events surrounding the Columbus Day parade. A gala dinner will be held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel on Saturday, October 6th – and the climax of the evening will be the drawing of a raffle ticket for a Maserati Quattroporte Automatic.

2008 Maserati GranTurismo

To help promote both the foundation and the raffle, a unique display will be created in the main concourse of Grand Central Station in New York City, featuring both a Quattroporte and the awesome new GranTurismo. The display will be in place from September 29th through October 15th; at 7pm on the final day, a second raffle ticket will be drawn – and one lucky winner will become the owner of a 2008 Maserati GranTurismo.

Tickets for each of the raffles cost $1,000, and will be on sale in New York’s landmark Grand Central Station. In addition, raffle tickets will be on sale at the gala dinner. Just 500 tickets for the GranTurismo will be sold, and only 300 tickets for the Quattroporte. The dinner is open to the public, with tickets costing $1,000.

Maserati is proud to support such a worthy cause as the Columbus Citizens Foundation. This year, the Foundation is providing $2.2 million in scholarship assistance to nearly 750 students. In addition the Franco Zeffirelli Scholarship Fund for the Arts supports graduate students who have shown talent and a commitment to the arts. You can find more information about the Columbus Citizens Foundation at its Web site; there is also a dedicated Web site for the raffle. Raffle tickets can be bought by calling 866.860.8572.
