“Collezione Cento” is Italian for “Collection of one hundred”, as there will only be 100 examples worldwide of this truly special version of the Quattroporte. With paint available in an ivory white that is exclusive to the Cento, a chromed honeycomb finish for the grille and side air vents, and exclusive 20” ball-polished alloy wheels, the exterior certainly reflects that this is a ‘special edition’.
But it is the interior where the Maserati designers have really worked their magic. Interior badging and the Trident logo on the shift lever are in mother of pearl, while the wood inserts are in dark Wengé wood. The leather is, of course, Poltrona Frau – and the seats feature unique diamond-stitched ‘chesterfield’ panels.
The rear seat passengers are the focus of the Cento; they are treated to tremendous personalized multimedia systems at the cutting edge of technological innovation. 10” touchscreen monitors housed in the front seat backs are used to control the multiple systems: music, movies and internet. A DVD player is discreetly integrated into the center console, and hidden away in the center armrest are an iPod docking station and USB connection points. The Cento allows the back seat passengers to surf the web, manage their music through iTunes, or check their email using a fold-away wireless keyboard. The system even comes with two wireless headsets for listening to music or movies.
