This issue of Maserati Monthly sees the debut of an occasional feature about the burgeoning market in special and classic Maseratis, focused on the Trident's appearances at prestigious automotive auctions.  Teamed with Keith Martin's Sports Car Market, the authority on collectible car values and global auction news, Maserati Monthly will help enthusiasts keep up with the news and history of Maseratis at auction; and what a history it is. 

In the inaugural appearance of our new APPRECIATION section we take a look at the top 20 prices made by Maseratis at auction.  Maseratisti will spot a number of fantastic classics on the list, and we can all take a little pride in the sometimes stratospheric figures paid for these cars.  Among the things of which we are most proud, however, is the fact that a couple of the cars are new.  This is a further testament to the resurgence of Maserati and to the brand's bright future.  While Maserati is bucking the general trend among premium car manufacturers - with sales continuing to rise in a descending market, as recently reported by Bloomberg News - the historic marque is helping to lead the trend in rising classic car prices at auction.  This is more than just another measure of Maserati's improving residuals, pre-owned values and brand equity, it is an indication that the world's oldest bespoke sports car company remains a leader.
