Societa Anonime Officine Alfieri Maserati was founded on December 1st, 1914, by five Maserati brothers. Their goal was to custom build fast, reliable, elegant cars for private use, first for the track and then for the road as well. In the process they created a company that influenced performance car culture globally and helped define the sports car. Maserati SpA has grown through changes in ownership and its cars are recognized paragons of high performance, engineering and design.

In 2002 Maserati North America was established to import Maserati cars, manage the Maserati brand, and serve Maserati customers in the company's largest market. The fundamental importance of the United States and Canada is recognized by our company, like the strong ties between citizens of both nations and the Trident marque. These ties are renewed and strengthened by the presence of Maserati North America.

Since the first Maseratis came to America prior to World War II the company has been through many changes, but the goal of building fast, reliable, elegant cars for discerning enthusiasts has remained constant.
